Prayer Quilt Ministry

March 2024

"Prayer in action is Love, love in action is service".  Quote by Mother Theresa.

And, that is exactly what our congregation does by the simple task of tying a knot in our quilt, and saying a prayer for a person going through a difficult time.  We hope this act of love brings comfort to those who receive this gift of prayer in a simple quilt.

The forms to request a quilt are in the Narthex. Our congregation has requested 857 quilts since 2003.  If you have any questions please see Nancy Z. and she will try to answer them.

To end with another quote by Mother Theresa-

"Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depths of our hearts".

From our children, who are learning to tie the knots, to the congregation, thank you for this service of love.

The Prayer Quilt Ministry celebrates its 20th Anniversary!!!

Jan 15, 2003 Pat Wilkins, Joyce Elliott, Helen Draper and Janet Koehler started the ministry.  To this date 20 years later, they have made 821 Quilts. There have been many women that have helped over the years, too many to name, presently we have Nancy Zane, Patsy McDonnell, Joyce Elliott and part time Michele Elliott that create the lovely prayer quilts

We would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the years with donations, tying knots and giving names of recipients.  And a huge thank you to all the ladies for the past 20 years who have made the prayer quilt ministry such a success!  Congratulations!

Note:  You don't need to know how to sew to help create these prayer quilts..cut material, thread yarn, etc. is just as important as sewing.
